South Australian Professional Support Coordinator (PSC)
The Lady Gowrie-PSC

The PSC plays a key role in providing eligible child care services and individuals, regardless of their geographic location, with access to quality inclusion and professional support that is relevant, appropriate and timely.

In collaboration with FaCS, the Gowrie Training Centre will develop, manage and monitor the delivery of professional support to all eligible child care services, Inclusion Support Facilitators and bicultural support workers, within state based regions.  The Gowrie Training Centre will engage Professional Support Service Providers (PSSPs) to deliver services in line with an Implementation Plan.

South Australian Inclusion Support Agencies (ISA)

There are two Inclusion Support Agencies in South Australia which are part of the Inclusion and Professional Support Program. This program is an initiative funded by the Commonwealth Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.

The Inclusion Support Program aims to develop the capacity of child care services to create an inclusive environment for all children and their families.
The priority groups for inclusion support are:

  • Children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds including refugee children and Australian South Sea Islander children
  • Children with on-going high support needs including children with a disability
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander children.
